Sometimes I have seen what I would have called a crisp, that someone else calls a cobbler.
So what mekes it a cobbler or a crisp? Cobbler vs Crisps Cobblers - are an American deep-dish fruit dessert with a thick crust (usually a biscuit crust) and a fruit filling such as peaches, apples, berries. Some versions are enclosed in the crust, while others have a drop-biscuit or crumb topping. Crisps - are baked with the fruit mixture on the bottom with a crumb topping. The crumb topping can be made with flour, nuts, bread crumbs, cookie or graham cracker crumbs, or even breakfast cereal. More info at http://whatscookingamerica.net/History/CobblerHistory.htm |
A deeper look at foodThere are many ways to look at food.
To Start of with it's beautiful! I tend to see food as an art. I love taking pictures of food! The Colors are so bright! Beet Red, Kiwi Green, Lemon Yellow, Carrot Orange and Berry Blue! And if it is not enough that it looks so good add to that the wide range of taste and textures. What could be better than biting into a crisp ripe apple, or juicy vine ripened tomato, or how about the smooth melt in your sweet goodness of a perfectly ripe mango or the popping texture of fresh shelled peas. (Is it time to eat yet?) And we haven't even talked about the smell! Fresh Strawberries in June, Apple Pie in the oven, Thanksgiving Dinner, Fresh Baked Bread. Yum! (Now we really need to eat!) and add to all that the nutritional value and the way it provides for our daily heath and energy, and food is pretty amazing! Archives
